Gen. (Rtd) Pervaiz Musharaf has taken over the charge of Pakistan on 12th October, 1999 after a successful attack on democratic government of Mian Nawaz the then Prime Minister. He remained President of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff upto year 2008. During the tenure of his government he put into sentence Mian Nawaz Sharif but after interference of Saudi government Mian Nawaz Sharif was released from the Jail and went to Saudi Arabia.
Pervaiz Musharaf has again tried to repeat the same attempt and pressurised Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry for his resignation but Chief Justice stood firmly against Musharaf and a very long and strict agitation was started in favour of Chief Justice by the lawyers, civil society and politicians resultantly Musharaf had been compelled to do an NRO with Benazir Bhutto due to which elections were announced and Asif Zardari become the President of Pakistan.
During the dictatorship, Musharaf had took some very wrong and serious decisions like attack on Lal Masjid Islamabad and killing of senior Baloch politician Akbar Bugti etc. After his resignation from the post of Army Chief and President of Pakistan, he left the country and remained abroad up to 2013.
During the period of people’s party government, people of Pakistan were very much disturbed due to corruption, inflation, load shading, unemployment and unrestness and they oftenly used to recall the period of Pervaiz Musharaf government.
As these rumors were reached to Pervaiz Musharaf he decided to come back Pakistan and to participate the elections as he thought that people of Pakistan has forgotten his crimes but when he reached a number of cases were opened against him and he faced the courts and bails were granted in his favour in all the cases. During the period of his cases he was under arrest in his farm house at Chak Shehzad Islamabad. Finally a case was filed against him for busted of constitution of Pakistan. In which he might be sentenced by the court but he escaped in Armed Forces Cardiology Hospital taking the plea that he is heart patient and he should be granted permission to go abroad for his treatment but the court is not satisfied by his request and denied to permit him to go abroad for his treatment.
